The most numerous group of wooden churches in Slovakia is that formed by the Greek Catholic and Orthodox churches, which are scattered all over the north eastern region. The most characteristic feature of these religious buildings is their emphasis on the number three, symbolising the Holy Trinity. This can be seen not only in their three domes, but also in their groundplan, with three areas arranged in an axis ascending in height from west to east.

Founded in 1992, the company Imrich Nagy – BODVA STUDIO creates films and videos. The company has participated in a variety of projects, including The History and Present State of Thália Theatre, László Dobos - the Life and Creativity of a Hungarian Writer living in Slovakia and József Macs - the Life and Creativity of a Hungarian Writer living in Slovakia.
The company's activities include: (i) processing of digital video and audio recordings and transcript on DVD or cassette and (ii) production of photos and video. Technical services offered include sound, editing, dubbing, subtitling and effects.

The 'Golden Violin' is a small professional group of excellent musicians which accompanies the Lúčnica Slovak National Folklore Ballet as well as offering independent concerts all around the world with a broad repertoire consisting of a variety of musical styles. The orchestra consists of eight members with brilliant skills and experience from abroad. The virtuosity of Golden Violin can be seen in some parts of the dance programme, where typical Slovak traditional music instruments dominate the music composition.
The documentary collections consist of the written, printed and photographic documentation of the professional Slovak theatre activities. The most extensive part of the documentation is being built by the production collection, which gathers all materials about Slovak professional theatre performances since 1920. Other documentation parts are built by the special subject entries (catchwords) collections, programme bulletin collections, slide and negative collections, drama text and audio visual collections.
The Slovak National Uprising (SNP) is an important chapter in the modern history of Banská Bystrica. The armed revolt of the Slovak nation against the Fascist regime broke out on 29 August 1944 in Banská Bystrica. After a brief success the uprising was forcibly crushed. The insurgents retired to the mountains and from there continued their guerrilla warfare.
St James Roman Catholic Church in Levoča is one of the most important sacred buildings in Slovakia. The church with its architecture and interiors represents a unique set of art historical and architectural monuments, chiefly from the 15th to 17th centuries.
Construction of a set of nine extensive Baroque structures of Trnava University, the first regular university in Hungary, began in the early 17th century. Trnava University was founded by P Pázmány in 1635, and for almost 150 years it spread education across the country through its theological, philosophical, law and medical faculties.

As such they had to be built at the edge of a village with the entrance facing away it and to be constructed only from wood with no foundations, towers or bells. It was originally planned to build 38 wooden articled churches in Slovakia but only nine were built and of these five have survived. All of them were designed in the form of a 'Greek cross'.

Situated in the loft area of the State Scientific Library in Banská Bystrica, the Home of the Muses exhibition comprises several rooms which document the musical history of the town of Banská Bystrica, the outstanding musicians, composers and writers of the town and region and the activities of the puppet theatre in Banská Bystrica. Suitable for all ages, the exhibition is popular with school and community groups. Video films can be shown upon request.
The Folk Music Instruments in Slovakia exhibition is located in the State Scientific Library at Banská Bystrica and includes over 250 folk musical instruments from different regions of Slovakia, together with objects connected with their fabrication and utilisation, plus numerous pictures and other documents relating to leading musicians, producers and interpreters.
Opened in May 2008, Klapka.sk. is a retail outlet managed by the Slovak Film Institute (SFÚ). It offers a wide range of Slovak and foreign film literature including books and magazines, plus DVDs of Slovak and foreign films.
The Playing for you Festival is an annual festival organised by Bibiana with support from the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic. It takes the form of a survey of alternative and puppet theatres for children with international participation. Shows are organised in the courtyard of the Bibiana building every Sunday during the Summer holiday period.
