The Hungarian Cultural Centre Bratislava is a Hungarian state institution supported by the Ministry of Education and Culture and working under the supervision of the Balassi Bálint Institute. It is one of a network of 18 Hungarian cultural institutes around the world.
The main project of the NGO Truc sphérique, Stanica (Railway Station) project was established in 2003 when space was provided within the reconstructed Žilina-Zariecie Railway Station (1945) for a 650m² open cultural space comprising an exhibition area, studios and workshops, a café and waiting-room, an info-centre and reading-room, and a multifunctional presentation venue for theatre, dance, concerts, discussions and projections.
One of 17 inter-governmental organisations of the United Nations, UNESCO was established by inter-governmental agreement in 1946. In the cultural field it aims to encourage governments to acknowledge the cultural dimension of development, to affirm and enrich cultural identities, to broaden participation in cultural life and to promote international co-operation.
Sociocultural initiatives all over Europe have similar aims, goals, methods and political interests. To link them in a more efficient way an informal cooperation started in 1994, and in 1999 it was established as "European Network for Cultural Centres" (ENCC). Since 2004 it is coordinated and administered by the "Bundesvereinigung Soziokultureller Zentren e.V." in Berlin.
Central Slovakia Cultural Centre is a regional cultural-edifying, methodological and educational institution (a contributory organisation with its own legal subjectivity) for districts of Banská Bystrica and Brezno with the scope of responsibility for Banská Bystrica Self-Governing region. The detached workplace of Pohronie Cultural Centre in Banská Štiavnica focuses on various forms of interest and artistic activity for all age groups from kindergarten kids up to the pensioners.
