Set up in December 1992, the European Audiovisual Observatory is the only centre of its kind to gather and circulate information on the audiovisual industry in Europe. The Observatory is a European public service body with 36 member States and the European Community, represented by the European Commission.
Slovak Central Observatory in Hurbanovo is a national methodological center of Slovak Republic to observatories and planetariums, which is governed by statute issued by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Slovak Republic. The Slovak Central Observatory performs specialized professional, observational, cultural, educational, scientific, research, informational, documentary and editorial work in the astronomical field.
The Maximilian Hell Observatory and Planetarium in Žiar nad Hronom is a cultural and educational organisation which aims to spread scientific knowledge of astronomy amongst the general public, especially children and students. The Planetarium mainly serves the central Slovakia region but many of its activities have a multi-regional and national character.
Banská Bystrica Observatory is part of Maximilián Hell Observatory and Planetarium in Žiar nad Hronom. It is a cultural and educational organisation that seeks to contribute to the dissemination of scientific knowledge from the field of astronomy among the general public, especially among children and students. Activities of the Observatory in Banská Bystrica include organising events for the public (public observations, excursions in Vartovka) and for schoolchildren (competitions, lectures, discussions, astronomical days and evenings on astronomical topics).
Popularising, educational and methodical activities of KHaP focus at all age categories and types of schools. The observatory annually organizes 200 events for ten thousand visitors. In addition to the wide range of popularisation and education programs (thematic classes for schools, competitions, lectures and lecture cycles, discussions, observations, films, video projections, environmental programs, practices, meetings, seminars etc.) it organizes also a fine arts advancement competition - Universe through the Eyes of Children and a quiz competition Universe is our World).

Its scientific and educational programmes are concerned mainly with the observation of the solar system.
Michalovce Observatory is a specialised institution which actively contributes to the development of science and scientific knowledge so that it fulfils its tasks in popular-educational, educational, professional-research, observation and advisory activities in the field of astronomy and related sciences.The observatory is situated in Mousson’s House on Hrádok street which was rebuilt as a purpose-built facility in 1980s.

The Vihorlat Observatory in Humenné is a regional scientific research, cultural, educational and training institution which specialises in astronomy and related sciences. Vihorlat Observatory in Humenné was founded in 1952 and for over 50 years of its operation has become an important centre of astronomy education, promotion and observation. The building of the observatory is located in the city centre and is easily accessible to visitors. It offers the possibility of lectures in the hall for 50 people.

Main activities of the observatory are formation of scientific knowledge, development of positive relationship with nature, increase of general, professional and cultural awareness of citizens, especially of children and youth. The observatory intermediates to its visitors the newest discoveries and knowledge in field of astronomy, familiarizes them with its task in context of scientific and humanitarian progress and with its role emerging from its position of a frontier science, which is to combine philosophy and science into one.
