Slovak Radio - logoThe aim of the Slovak Radio Music Centre is to prepare music programmes in various genres for the four Slovak Radio channels. During the weekdays on Radio Slovakia the Music Centre broadcasts Espresso, a programme about the golden era of Slovak and Czech pop music, Tonight, which each time offers a different music genre (folk, jazz, rock, country) and I Like this Music, a popular programme which provides space for various personalities to talk about their relationship with music. Music Centre productions can also be heard every weekday on Radio Regina when the Music Centre delivers various wide range programmes such as radio programmes about folk and brass music in which listeners get an opportunity to hear music genres that can rarely be heard on any other Slovak media.

Since its inception, the Music Centre has enriched the programme structures of individual Slovak Radio channels with radio genres that have been absent for many years, eg its art documentary Fíčer, a music programme for children and youth called Zvonkohra (Glockenspiel) broadcast on Radio Devín, and the music session Malá veľká hudba na Rádiu Regina (Little-Grand Music on Radio Regina) dealing with music for adults. The Music Centre aims to strengthen knowledge on contemporary music among people, both by publishing up-to-date information about what is happening in the Slovak as well as world music scene and by recording and subsequently editing and broadcasting whole concerts, festivals and other major music events.
