Methodological and Pedagogical Centre in Prešov (MPC)

The Methodological and Pedagogical Centre in Prešov (MPC) is a centrally administered organisation of Ministry of Education of the Slovak Republic. Its task is to carry out methodological activities as well as further education of pedagogical and non-pedagogical staff. Within its competence are schools and school establishments under the local administration of cities, villages, regions and also Regional School Councils for the regions of Prešov and Košice.

MPC Prešov: (i) provides further education of pedagogical and non- pedagogical staff; (ii) guarantees expert methodological activities in the field of further education of pedagogical and non- pedagogical staff; (iii) carries out research in the field in the field of further education of pedagogical and non- pedagogical staff; (iv) under commission of Slovak Ministry of Education, executes other competencies for whole Slovakia: in the field of Roma issues, and in the field of further education of teachers for minorities

An educational, information, documentational, advisory and consultatory centre called the Roma Education Centre in Prešov forms part of MPC; it covers the region of whole Slovakia and aims to take account of the specific needs and conditions of the Roma minority within Slovak schools:
