Regional Culture Centre in Žilina
The Regional Culture Centre in Žilina is a cultural facility whose founder is Žilina Regional Government. The main task of the Regional Culture Centre in Žilina is to create conditions for development of local culture, interest and artistic activity, preservation of traditions and provision of cultural and educational activities for wide range of citizens within the territorial administration of Žilina region.
The Regional Culture Centre in Žilina is also responsible for organising various cultural local, regional, nationwide and international competitions, exhibitions and festivals. The Centre organises conferences, symposia, trainings, seminars, courses, workshops and other traditional and untraditional forms. It creates conditions for presenting culture abroad, organises reciprocal and other international activities in all areas of cultural and educational activities which are related to tourism.
The Regional Culture Centre in Žilina supports and revives traditional artistic craft production, organises leisure time activities, supports events aimed at integration of disabled or socially disadvantaged population groups, co-operates with interest and artistic organisations, groups, entrepreneurs, religious groups, educational institutions and other subjects within the field of culture. In its exhibition premises in Makovický’s house the Culture Centre presents creation of artists and photographers as well as traditional folk craftsmen.
Premises for various art courses, trainings and workshops are also a part of the Centre.
