Modrý Kameň is situated on the Krtíš and Riecka Rivers in the Velký Krtíš District of Banská Bystrica Region, southern Slovakia. It lies around 5 kilometres from Velký Krtíš and 50 kilometres from Zvolen, and is the smallest town in Slovakia.
