Myjava is located on the Myjava River in the foothills of the White Carpathian mountains in Trenčín Region, western Slovakia. It is 10 kilometres from the Czech border, 35 kilometres from Skalica and 100 kilometres from Bratislava.
Myjava covers an area of 48.54 square kilometres and has a total population of 12,811 (2005).
