Located on the Hornonitrianske (Upper Nitra) River in central Slovakia just four kilometres from the city of Prievidza, Bojnice is one of the oldest spa towns in Slovakia and the site of one of Slovakia’s best-known castles.
Bojnice covers an area of 19.96 square kilometres and has a total population of 4,983 (2005).
