SNM - logoSituated in the Baroque mansion built on the ruins of Modrý Kameň Castle, the Museum of Puppet Cultures and Toys SNM is a specialised museum with a nationwide scope which documents the history and development of puppet theatre and children’s toys in Slovakia, as well as the history of the region in which the museum is situated. It acquires, professionally processes and preserves various historical, archaeological and ethnographic collections in the framework of its specialisation, displays these in exhibitions and also organises various cultural activities which enjoy great popularity among its visitors, in particular children.

Research undertaken by the museum is focused on puppet cultures, personalities of the puppet theatre, development of the Slovak toy, and the ethnography and archaeology of the region.

The museum provides its own exhibition premises for short-term exhibitions.
