Small Carpathian Museum in Pezinok
Small Carpathian Museum in Pezinok is, following a two-year reconstruction work, again open to the public from November 18, 2008. With the use of finances from the EU funds and a founder of the museum - Bratislava Self- Governing Region, the museum building and its basement underwent a complete reconstruction. Our institution focuses on being a regional museum with a strong emphasis on viticulture, winemaking and particularly wine from the Small Carpathian Wine Region. It is particularly wine that is in the centre of attention because it is the finishing product in which visitor shows the greatest interest. The museum offers its visitors a tour of the cellar exposition that contains the largest collection of wine presses in the Central Europe, occasional exhibitions on various topics, workshops for schools and Small Carpathian wine tasting in its unique premises. The museum organizes an event called ‘St. Urban Feast’; an international chess tournament called ‘Richard Réti Memorial’, Ceramic Markets and it is one of the stops on the Small Carpathian Wine Route during Open Cellars Day. Along with a civic association Museum Vinorum it organizes the event Pezinok Wine Cellars. Regarding its personal constitution, besides professionals and technical staff, this institution employs also its own Sommelier.
