SNM - logoBetliar Museum SNM is a specialised art history museum located within Betliar Mansion, the former hunting palace of the Andrássy family set in extensive parkland which was accorded the status of a National Cultural Monument in 1985.

The museum collection at Betliar Manor House comprises exhibits coming mostly from the property and collections of its former owners, the Andrássy family. The museum, in line with its specialisation, constantly supplements its collection. The bulk of the collection is made up of historic furniture, represented mainly by English imperial style works from the first half of the 19th century and Viennese classical furniture from the second half of the 18th century. The most valued exhibits include a 15th-century Gothic table from Bardejov, a 16th-century Renaissance wedding chest from Kežmarok and a 1714 suite with painted leather cover from Spiš. Noteworthy too is the collection of paintings, which includes portraits and landscapes from domestic and foreign painters such as Viktor Madarász, Antal Ligeti, Ľudovít Deák-Ébner, Július Benczúr, Bertalan Papp, Béla Spányi, Géza Mészöly, Žigmund Vajda, Mikuláš Barabáš, Karol Sterio, Anton Neogrády and Béla Pállik. Another valuable feature is the collection of weaponry dating from the Middle Ages to the 19th century. The historical library, dating from the end of the 18th century, houses more than 18,000 volumes.

Scientific research activities have for several years now focused on exploratory work in the historical archives of the Andrássy family, which is housed at the State Archives in Levoča.

Lectures are given in the Hungarian, German, English and Polish languages and a range of publications, souvenirs and postcards is on sale here.

Betliar Museum also administers the nearby Krásna Hôrka Castle and the Andrássy Mausoleum at Krásnohorské Podhradie:
