The international folklore festival Jánošík Days is traditionally held in the village of Terchová with participation of leading artists from abroad (Italy, Croatia, Sweden, Poland, Bolivia, Czech Republic, Russia, Denmark, Portugal, Austria and others) as well as from Slovakia who take into consideration new trends in the folk music genre.

Gala concerts are held in a large amphitheatre called Nad Bôrami (with capacity of 6,000 spectators). Other programmes featuring many different genres are held in a large festival tent (with capacity of 2,000 spectators). Concurrently, folk art from a field of plastic art, photography and painting is presented at specialised exhibitions during the festival.

Other parts of the programme include a solemn concert and holy mass celebrated for disseminators of folk traditions in the large church in Terchová, a parade of wagons and music groups, plus folk jamborees, merry-go-rounds, stalls, etc.
