Calvary

Found in many towns across central Europe, Calvaries were created on hills to symbolically recreate the Stations of the Cross. Usually comprising seven chapels, each representing one stop on Christ's journey to the Cross, Calvaries are usually connected with the Jesuit order and were meant to help believers to feel how Christ felt when making his way to be executed.
