Comenius University in Bratislava Academic Library
Comenius University in Bratislava Academic Library is a central scientific and information workplace focusing on information support for research and education at Comenius University in Bratislava. The Academic Library provides library, information, bibliographic, documentation, retrieval and other services for its users, who are mostly students, teaching staff and the wider academic community.
The Library is not a typical library where all the stocks and services are concentrated in one building. It consists of 13 independent faculty libraries located in different parts of Bratislava and some other Slovak towns, and the Academic Library Centre, which is responsible for management and co-ordination of mutual co-operation between faculty libraries.
The library produces two own databases - the Union Catalogue of Comenius University and the Database of Publication Activities of Comenius University staff. At the same time the library, by means of its Virtual Library website, provides access to external information resources for the academic community of Comenius University.
