Bratislava Puppet Theatre - logo Bratislava Puppet Theatre was established in 1957 as the State Puppet Theatre and was the third professional puppet theatre to be established in Slovakia after the theatres in Žilina and Nitra. Since its inception it has had five decades of the theatre production, searching for an identity against the background of struggles and victories in the exploration of puppet theatre creation. The company adopted its current name in 2002.

During its history Bratislava Puppet Theatre has performed 160 premieres and offered altogether 11,000 performances for three million viewers not only from Bratislava, Slovakia or the former Czechoslovakia, but also from all over the world. Bratislava Puppet Theatre has been awarded innumerable top festival prices, which reflect the an enormous creative potential of all its members.
