The Faculty of Education originated in 1959 as the Pedagogical Institute, and was renamed in 1964. It is responsible for training students in the field of natural sciences, social sciences and art. From 1992-1996 the Faculty became a separate College of Education within the University of Nitra. It reverted to its former name in 1996 when the University itself was renamed the Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra.
