Ministry of Cultur of the Slovak Republic - Directorate General of Arts and Language
The Directorate General of Arts and Language is involved in the creation of conditions for the development and presentation of culture in all its manifestations.
The Directorate General in particular: (i) elaborates on the concept of state policy and determining strategy in the arts, the national language and book culture; (ii) produces analytical, conceptual and informational materials in the arts, the national language and book culture; (iii) provides relevant research and analytical work; (iv) conceptually and organisationally co-operates in the preparation of grant programmes of state support for the arts and book culture; (v) through its services in co-operation with the Directorate General of International Co-operation, participates in the preparation of conceptual design and specifications of international bilateral and multilateral cultural agreements and the implementation plan for the whole field of art and book culture; (vi) co-ordinates international contacts and direct co-operation of organisations; (vii) co-operates in the preparation of national events with international participation and the presentation of arts and book culture abroad; (viii) in co-operation with professional organisations monitors the status of its work in the field.
