Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic - Directorate of Monuments Protection

The Directorate of Heritage Protection (i) produces analytical, conceptual and information materials on the status and development of rescue, restoration, use and presentation of the Monuments Fund; (ii) issues documents for inspections of monuments by the Ministry; (iii) prepares proposals for the declaration and revocation of historical reserves; (iv) prepares the basis of the declaration, amendment and cancellation of the declaration of a national cultural heritage; (v) prepares documents for issuing or cancelling the authorisation to carry out archaeological research; (vi) assesses proposals for the registration of monuments and cultural sites into the List of World Heritage; (vii) directs the activities of the Monuments Board of the Slovak Republic; and (viii) finances the rescue and rehabilitation of monuments and sites in Slovakia.
