The Zentiva Award aims to encourage creativity amongst young filmmakers and to allow them to work in the audiovisual sphere.
Since 2005 the presentation of the Zentiva Award to a young Slovak creator aged up to 35 years has been part of the Slovak section of the International Film, Television and Video Festival Febiofest. The prize is awarded by the Zentiva Company in co-operation with the Slovak Film Institute and the Association of Slovak Film Clubs for outstanding creative achievement (feature, animated, documentary or experimental film) produced during the past calendar year, or for outstanding highly-valued creative activity over the preceding three years. The financial prize is designed to fund the next project by the young author.
