Central Slovakia Cultural Centre, Banská Bystrica (SOSBB)

Central Slovakia Cultural Centre is a regional cultural-edifying, methodological and educational institution (a contributory organisation with its own legal subjectivity) for districts of Banská Bystrica and Brezno with the scope of responsibility for Banská Bystrica Self-Governing region. It provides expert-consultant, methodological, information and documentary activities. When organising cultural events, it cooperates with towns and municipalities in the region.

Central Slovakia Cultural Centre:

- creates conditions for the development of local culture and spare-time art activities,

- supports, vitalises and preserves traditional folk culture,

- organises cultural, educational and spare-time activities for a wide range of people within their local responsibility and,

- provides consultancy to organisers of cultural-edifying activities as well as to individuals and communities providing spare-time art activities working in the field of cultural-edifying activities.

Central Slovakia Cultural Centre professionally prepares and organises district, regional, national as well as international competitions, festivals, performances, exhibitions and related educational activities particularly in the field of dancing, music, theatre, artistic rhetorics, fine arts, video, film and photographs, exhibiting, folk culture and folk handicrafts.
