The Faculty of Music and Dance is one of the three faculties of the Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts (VŠMU) in Bratislava. It was founded in 1949 as the Faculty of Music, a name which it bore until 1992. The aim of the Faculty is to develop educational, artistic and scientific activities in the field of music and dance and to create the appropriate conditions for these activities. The Faculty collaborates with other art schools, cultural and social entities at home and abroad. Its graduates are among the leading solo and orchestral musicians and dancers operating in Slovakia and abroad.
