Monuments Board of the Slovak Republic, Bratislava Regional Restoration Atelier

One of two specialist restoration ateliers managed by the Monuments Board of the Slovak Republic, the Bratislava Restoration Atelier undertakes research and restoration work as state assistance in relation to cultural monuments which are at risk. Its Chemical-Technological Laboratory specialises in the chemical-physical analysis of materials.

It specialises in restoring stone sculptures, architecture, decorative and stone details, wall paintings and stucco decorations, polychrome and non-polychrome woodcuts, hanging paintings and table paintings, metal and metal elements. It is engaged in the development of restoration as an artistic-scientific discipline, documents the restoration of monuments, assesses restoration works already carried out from the artistic, technological and methodical aspects, and carries out expert reports and expert opinions. It is also active in the field of publications and exhibitions. It organises working seminars and workshops focused on improving the work of artisans in renovating cultural monuments.
