Trenčin Regional Government - Tourism Department

The primary objectives of Trenčín Regional Government for the sustainable development of tourism to 2013 are (i) to protect, increase the value of and promote the natural and cultural heritage of Trenčín Region; (ii) to contribute to an increase in the quality of life and the general culture of the inhabitants of the region and the satisfaction of the needs and expectations of visitors through an improvement in the level of tourism; (iii) to develop tourism in accordance with objectives on social issues and policies on social inclusion and solidarity; (iv) to contribute to the creation of a positive image of Trenčín Region; and (v) to monitor and follow global trends in tourism through the development of international co-operation.

The Tourism Department is responsible for the following tasks: (i) co-operation with the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic in drafting tourism concepts; (ii) co-operation with the Slovak Tourist Board in promoting Trenčín Self-Governing Region; (iii) participation in organising events of regional significance that have an impact on tourism development; (iv) promotion of Trenčín Self-Governing Region through a variety of printed materials and articles under the banner of Trenčín Self-Governing Region; (v) participation of Trenčín Self-Governing Region in domestic and foreign tourism fairs; and (vi) co-organisation of conferences, seminars and workshops focusing on tourism held in the Trenčín Self-Governing Region.
