The Slovak Music Union brings together three organisations: the Slovak Composers Association, the Folk Music Association and the Slovak Musicological Association.
The mission of the Union includes: (i) developing musical culture in Slovakia; (iii) creating the conditions for freedom of artistic, theoretical and organisational work in the field of musical culture; (iii) co-operating in developing international relations in the field of musical culture; and (iv) granting awards to important personalities and music communities for their contribution in the field of musical culture.
