The Music Fund is a national-cultural public institution having its offices in Bratislava. It started operating in 1954 together with the Literary Fund and the Visual Arts Fund. The main mission of the Fund is to support creative activities in the field of musical art.

The Music Fund:

- administers the contributions under Act No.13/1993 Zz,

- creates the material conditions for the development of musical art in the Slovak Republic by providing funds for music makers and organisations in accordance with Principles of the Music Fund Support Activities;

- presents Music Fund awards for outstanding achievements and long-time contribution in the field of music;

- issues and distributes concert and pedagogical literature relating to Slovak composers;

- issues and distributes CDs with Slovak music production;

- rents out its large collection of sheet music containing Slovak orchestral and vocal-symphonic compositions for public performances;

- provides lending of musical materials from foreign publishers for the Slovak Republic;

- runs the Musica slovaca Slovak Music Store which offers sheet music, book and CD productions of Slovak publishers presenting Slovak production and interpretative art; and

- administers the creative-recreational establishment Bellov Dom v Omšení (Bella’s House in Omšenie).
