Martin Municipal Tourist Information Centre

The major objective of Martin Municipal Information Centre is to inform domestic and foreign tourists about the attractions, activities and facilities available in the town and the region, to mediate accommodation services and to sell maps and souvenirs. It also aims to promote the town and the Turiec region at domestic and foreign tourism fairs.

Tasks undertaken by the Centre include (i) representing the town of Martin at national, international and regional exhibitions and tourism trade fairs; (ii) initiating, consolidating and developing co-operation between the public and private sector in Martin and the Turiec region; (iii) co-operating with institutions in Martin, the Association of Information Centres of Slovakia, the Slovak Tourist Board, the public and private sector in Martin and the vicinity and the self governing region of Žilina; (iv) administering accommodation services in the town of Martin and the vicinity; (v) selling entry tickets to various events in Martin and the vicinity through the online sale network ; (vi) administering and promoting various events through the website ; (vii) development of active tourism; (viii) provision of promotional and advertising services; (ix) provision of guide services; (x) provision of publishing services; (xi) provision of educational activities focusing on tourism; (xii) production and sale of souvenirs; and (xiii) copying, faxing and advertising for a fee.

This organisation is a member of the Association of Information Centres of Slovakia (AICES) in Liptovský Mikuláš.
