The Association of Slovak Film Clubs is a citizens' association which co-ordinates the activities of 60 film clubs across Slovakia. A member of the International Federation of Film Clubs (FICC) since 1995, it is the largest distributor of non-commercial cinematography in Slovakia. The Association’s main activities include: ensuring programming for film clubs from other distributor companies, domestic and foreign film archives; organisation of non-commercial film exhibitions and festivals in Slovakia (Febiofest, Project 100, Young Film Forum, etc); organisation of film workshops and seminars (in 1996 it established a tradition of Czecho-Slovak filmology seminars alternately held in Slovakia and in the Czech Republic); and co-organisation of non-commercial film events abroad, mainly in the Czech Republic (Febiofest, the Summer School of Film in Uherské Hradište, the Seminar of the Russian Film in Veselí nad Moravou, and the Seminar of the British Film in Uherské Hradište). It publishes KINO-IKON, the only Slovak journal for the science on film and moving picture.
