Slovak Audiovisual Producers Association (SAPA) was founded in November 2000 and its major objective is to:
(i) represent the Slovak and foreign producers in the Slovak audiovisual sphere on the basis of authorisation to perform the activities of collective management organization,
(ii) protect the rights of represented Slovak and foreign producers in the Slovak audiovisual sphere
(iii) cooperate with European organizations and institutions, such as AGICOA, EUROCOPYA, EAAP and with producer associations worldwide,
(iv) initiate and participate in the implementation of the development and promotion of Slovak cinematography and audiovisual sphere
(v) promote a presentation and promotion of Slovak producer entities and their works.
SAPA acts for and represents the majority of producers of Slovak films released in cinemas in the past decades as well as owners and managers of copyrights of 97% of all films made in Slovakia from 1921 until today.
