This programme is also suitable for students from a non business background.
This programme will provide an opportunity for students to learn and to understand the business opportunities of an increasingly interdependent yet diverse business world and to gain the skills to meet the challenges in an international way. It will also provide students with a comprehensive grounding in theoretical and empirical knowledge of International Business.

By the end of the programme, you will have acquired a high standard of knowledge in the principles, theoretical concepts and practice of international business. You will be able to analyse issues arising in international business, and will be sensitive to the cross-cultural and cross-national aspects of management.
In addition, you will have further developed a range of valuable personal skills. These include skills in managing research projects, the ability to examine previous literature critically, the design of research investigations, the use of statistical and other techniques, presentation skills, and those of problem solving and organising group work. All are valuable capabilities for your future career development.
How is the programme organised?
The MSC in International Business is divided sequentially into two parts.

Part II - The Dissertation | |

Part II, yielding 60 credits, is the supervised dissertation in which candidates exhibit in-depth knowledge in an area of specialisation. |
Under the scheme of study, candidates who complete Part I and accumulate 120 credits, but do not complete Part II, can exit with a Postgraduate Diploma in International Business.
A Postgraduate Certificate in International Business is also available to students who pass 60 credits or more in Part I.
Lectures and Tutorials:
Classes run over two semesters from the beginning of October until May with breaks at Christmas and Easter. (MSc Calendar)
Assessment:
Assessment occurs at the end of each semester. Providing they have completed the taught element of the programme, students must then complete a supervised dissertation during the period June - October in order to obtain the MSc qualification.
What are the entry requirements?
- Candidates should hold one of the following qualifications:
- a recognised Bachelor degree that amounts to at least 180 ECTS credits to qualify for the award MSc in International Business
- a non-graduate qualification which the University of Wales has deemed to be of a satisfactory standard for the purpose of postgraduate admission.
- A non-graduate may also be admitted to candidature provided that he/she
- is aged 25 or over on or before the day on which he/she is required to register for the scheme of study
- has held, for a minimum of two years, a responsible position which is relevant to the scheme to be pursued.

- Complete Portobello application form
- Complete University of Wales matriculation form. Read instructions carefully. Students need to be matriculated by the University of Wales before they are finally accepted.
- Submit a CV detailing any relevant work experience and transcripts of relevant academic qualifications.
- All applicants are expected to be competent in both written and spoken English having a minimum score of 750 -800 TOEIC (or equivalent)
- Students must also pass an interview
