Why should I study Business Studies?

As knowledge continues to act as a primary source of competitive advantage in modern economies, the study of business studies has emerged as one of the most dynamic areas in higher education. Nationally and internationally, industry and students are demanding education for business that delivers knowledge, skills and a range of personal qualities that will sustain commercial and personal development.

The aims of this programme include the opportunity to develop a variety of cognitive, practical and social skills that will enhance both their employability and capacity for post graduate study. Students are encouraged to take responsibility for their academic and professional profiles by selecting elective areas of study in their final year. This programme has been designed to offer the student flexibility in managing their own learning, based on their individual interests, aspirations, goals and personal development needs.

What can I do when I graduate?

In order to progress to further study, you will need to achieve 60 credits and a GPA of 2.0 in your final examinations to progress onto the MSc in International Business. This qualification may entitle you to transfer to programmes leading to Higher Diploma (level 8) or programmes leading to Masters Degree or Post-graduate Diploma (level 9) at other Irish and international universities and colleges.

Career Opportunities

The current labour market presents many attractive career opportunities for students with the knowledge skills and competencies gained on this programme.
