Eating out in Dundee

Dundee doesn’t have quite the selection of restaurants the other city’s in Scotland have but there is still a variety of cuisines available. Depending on your taste and budget there are numerous restaurants around the city centre area.

If you are looking for some cheap pub grub then try either the Nether Inn or the Count House, both which are around the city centre area. The Nether Inn has a variety of specials and since it mostly caters to students the prices are usually pretty low. The Count House is owned by the Wetherspoon chain and again there are a variety of specials with two for one meals and some low drink prices also.

If you are looking for Chinese food then try Jimmy Chungs, there you will find food at reasonable prices and you won’t leave hungry. The restaurant is situated in the West End area a 15 minute walk from the city centre.

If you are looking for formal dining then try either the Alchemy restaurant at the Apex Hotel or The Social. The Alchemy is on the waterfront and it offers Scottish cuisine with a French influence, it has been awarded two AA Rosettes for quality. The Social restaurant is next door to the bar and it offers a small cosy but chic environment and a range of cuisines from Thai-style mussels to Moroccan kebabs.
