Rimavská Sobota Tourist Information Centre

Rimavská Sobota Tourist Information Centre offers a comprehensive range of high-quality touristic and information services for the town and the wider region with the aim of improving the utilisation of existing tourism facilities and increasing the number of tourists visiting the town, facilitating access to tourist activities and attractions, cultural and sports facilities and less accessible locations in the town and the region in order to make them known both throughout Slovakia and abroad.

These include: (i) the provision of reliable information about the town, its social life and tourist attractions; (ii) information on transport links in the town and district; (iii) information on major recreational activities in the locality (by means of a comprehensive information system comprising, on the basis of contractually agreed terms, information about all operators providing services in tourism including summer and winter tourist and agro-tourist centres); (iv) information on the natural environment (mountains, rivers, protected areas, caves, flora, fauna, mineral and thermal springs); (v) information on cultural, historic and folkloric potential, including historic monuments of the urban preservation zone, folk architecture, sports options); (vi) accommodation booking services; (vii) tour guiding and interpretation services; (viii) sale of promotional and advertising materials and folk-art products, maps and books focusing on tourism; (ix) sale of tickets to various events (culture, sports, sales events, markets and trade fairs, exhibitions, folklore festivals); (x) sale of tickets to contracted modes of transport; (xi) organising sightseeing tours in Slovakia; (xii) travel insurance and foreign exchange services; (xiii) copying and fax services; (xiii) preparation of advertising materials (business cards, promotional materials, advertising catalogues, presentation of the town at the official website ); (xiv) issuing information and promotional materials about the town and the region; (xv) maintaining and updating the official website of the town of Rimavská Sobota at ); and (xvi) promotion of the town and the region at the tourism fairs and in the media.

This organisation is a member of the Association of Information Centres of Slovakia (AICES).
