Nový Čas, currently the most-read Slovak daily, is published since 1990. It is designed for the largest target groups. The daily can be classified into the category of tabloid press, aimed at short news of domestic and foreign events, celebrities, show-business, politics, culture and sport, but without deeper analyses. Each edition is accompanied by a large number of photographs. As the only daily newspaper in Slovakia it is published seven times a week, on Sundays it is issued under the name Nový Čas Nedeľa (Nový Čas Sunday).
