How is the APRM Structured?

  • The overall responsibility of the APRM is vested with the Forum of Participating Heads of State and Government.
  • The Panel of Eminent Persons will oversee the conduct of the APRM process, and ensure its integrity.
  • The APR Secretariat will provide the secretarial, technical, co-ordinating and administrative support services to the APR Panel under whose leadership the APR process will be conducted.
  • The APR teams comprise a pool of technical expertise to review progress with a country's National Programme of Action.
  • The Country Support Missions have been established to ensure a common understanding of the philosophy, rules and processes of the APRM, and to support participating countries with processes should such a need be indicated.
  • The Focal Point in a participating country has the overall co-ordinating responsibility for the APRM process therein. In this instance it is the Minister of Public Service and Administration (MPSA).
