To begin electric service

• By switching on the circuit breaker and grounding mechanism, electricity can be used.
• Fill out the post card found near the breaker and send it to the electric company.
• The electrical frequency in Yamaguchi City is 60 hertz and the voltage is 100volts.
• Before using electrical appliances bought outside Japan, please consult an electronics store to see if an adapter is necessary.

Blown Fuses

If the electricity goes off suddenly, check the breaker to see if a fuse has been blown.　The breaker can usually be found high on the outside wall or inside the entrance of the house or apartment. If the breaker is in the down position, switch it back up. If the electricity does not return, contact the electric company.　Your contract number (customer number) will be necessary at that time.

Notice of Electrical Usage (refer to facing page)

• Each month, on the designated meter reading day, a notice of the month's electrical usage will be provided by the electric company.
• Each month's electrical usage is determined by subtracting the previous month's meter reading from the current month's reading.
