The Slovak Literary Review/Revue der slowakischen literatur is a twice-yearly magazine, which introduces Slovak literature and its authors to publishers, translators, organisers of literary events and readers around the world. Launched in November 1996 by the National Literary Centre (renamed to the Centre for Information on Literature in 1999), 70 per cent of its content is in English and around 30 percent in German. Two special French issues (December 2000 and June 2002), a special Spanish issue (2005) and an Italian issue (2007) were published, along with a special insert in Italian entitled Slovak Literature for Children and Youth (1997). The Review is issued in a print run of 1,100 copies which are distributed by the Centre for Information on Literature to Embassies of the Slovak Republic and Slovak Institutes abroad, to translators, cultural institutions and Slovak language tutors, as well as during the international book fairs and events abroad.
